May 16 - A coal mine in southern Poland is earning CO2 emissions offsets by converting excess methane into heating fuel and electricity.
After converting the methane produced during coal mining, the mine is now selling its emissions credits to a Japanese power company.
Poland's CO2 emissions limits are being cut by almost a third between 2008 and 2012 as part of the European fight against global warming.
