June 17. - Best Buy says it is closely tracking inventory as it gets ready for the busy holiday season.
Best Buy says it is keeping close tabs on what's selling in each of its stores across the United States as it ramps up for the busy holiday shopping season. Mike Vitelli, speaking at the Reuters 2008 Consumer and Retail Summit in New York on Tuesday, says the consumer electronics retailer has a "sophisticated forecasting system that is being monitored each week and projecting" what it will likely need for the holidays. Separately, Vitelli says Best Buy has not yet had to pass on prices increase to consumers because of inflationary pressures.
