Algae blights Olympic sail venue

Jul. 1 - Chinese authorities are battling to clear the biggest algae bloom in decades covering the sea and beaches of Qingdao.

Some 100, 000 tonnes of algae has been weeded out but some training areas and sailing routes earmarked for the Olympics are still clogged and authorities are appealing for help from nearby ports to contain the outbreak.
