High heel sprinters
Jul 21 - Hot on their heels, scores of girls test the strength of their stilettoes by taking part in a high heel race in Moscow.
Wearing high heels is hard work, and running in them is an entirely different skill. But that didn't get in the way of Russian girls participating in the Glamour Sprint race, where 100,000 rubles (around $4,000) was up for grabs.
The race was organised by the fashion and beauty magazine Glamour. Girls had to wear shoes with a heel of at least nine centimetres.
Svetlana Martinova won the race with a stiletto sprinting speed of 15 seconds.
