Pending home sales rebound
Aug. 7 - Signed contracts for pending home sales unexpectedly rose in June, but the numbers were still way below year-earlier levels, according to a real estate trade group.
Back to school shopping season is off to a sluggish start as the impact of the economic stimulus checks fade. Jobless claims jumped to a more than 6-year high, according to the Labor Department.
