Animals flee Indian floodwater

(00:42) Rough Cut

Sep 4 - In India's northeastern state of Assam heavy rains have caused the Brahmaputra river to burst its banks and flood most of Kaziranga National Park.

The park is home to more than half of the world's population of one-horned rhinoceros and the animals have been forced to head for higher ground. It is believed that at least two rhino calves have drowned.

More than a million people have been affected by floods after the Brahmaputra burst its banks. So far, 15 people have been killed and 300,000 acres of farmland submerged.
