China launch satellites into orbit
Sept. 6 - China launches two satellites to monitor environment and natural disasters, as the country has been hit by devastating snowstorms and eartyquakes.
The satellites, fired from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in northern Shanxi Province, will help forecast and monitor floods, droughts, earthquakes, pest outbreaks on cropland and other disasters.
