Presidential debate in jeopardy
Sep 24 - With a $700 billion banking rescue plan hanging in the balance, John McCain said he will break off from campaigning to help on putting the plan together.
McCain asked that a highly anticipated Friday night debate with Democratic rival Barack Obama be postponed.
Obama said he thought the campaign should proceed as planned.
