Oct 6 - The mobile music discovery service has seen a surge of new users after broadening its offering to work seamlessly with social networks.
Shazam says its free application for the iPhone was downloaded by 1.5 million people in the first six weeks after its release.
The company says the popularity of this new "app" epitomises the company's significant growth over the past year.
