Paloma loses punch over Cuba
Nov 9 - The latest Caribbean hurricane slammed ashore as a Category 3 storm but weakened as it swept across the island.
Tens of thousands fled or were evacuated from low-lying areas in the south before the hurricane hit with torrential rain and top winds of 180kph (115 mph).
It had already barged across the wealthy Cayman Islands, destroying homes and flooding streets.
