Thai PM declares state of emergency

Nov 27 - Thai protesters from the opposition PAD refuse to end their siege of airports in Bangkok as Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat declares a state of emergency.

The Thai government declared a state of emergency in the Thai capital as protesters from the Members of the People's Alliance for Democracy continued their siege of the two main airports in the city.

The protesters are calling on Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and his government to resign. Somchai Wongsawat has urged the army to remain in their barracks after increasingly violent protest in the capital.
