Dec 15 - Curling players from different countries wore Santa outfits and competed in the first ever Santa Curling Championships over the weekend in the English county of Kent.
Players came from England, Scotland, the Channel Islands, Canada, Germany and the US. Some of them had already played at the national level, while others had only just learned the sport.
Curling is usually a team sport -- but for this championship the Santas competed on an individual basis within a team, scoring individual points. After several rounds of games the top 3 Santas were matched for a final playoff. In the end it was Guernsey-born Gary Tapp who took top prize.
