Europe feels the chill
Jan 7 - A cold front has swept across much of western Europe covering many areas in ice and snow.
Energy consumption has hit record levels in some areas as people turn up the heating. Rail, road and air traffic has been disrupted for several days.
Meteorologists say the cold weather can be expected to last until the weekend.
