Slumdog dominates Golden Globes

Jan 12 - "Slumdog Millionaire" won four coveted Golden Globe awards on Sunday (11 January), boosting its chances at the Oscars in February.

The film, which tells of a young Indian man looking for love and competing for money on a television game show, earned the award for best film drama. Director Danny Boyle, screenwriter Simon Beaufoy and composer A.R. Rahman also received Golden Globes.

Mickey Rourke was named best actor in a film drama with "The Wrestler" and Kate Winslet pick up two Golden Globes - one for best actress for "Revolutionary Road" and one for best supporting actress for "The Reader".

Heath Ledger, who died of an accidental drug overdose last year, was named best supporting actor for playing the villain 'The Joker' in Batman movie "The Dark Knight." His posthumous award was collected by the film's director Christopher Nolan.
