Feb. 16 - Film at Berlin film festival is the first to depict the life of a US soldier who defected to North Korea in 1962 and who still remains there
In 1962, a young, disillusioned American soldier on duty in South Korea, deserted his unit and crossed the line into the enemy territory of North Korea.
45 years on, he has broken his silence and his life to date has been turned into a film.
James Dresnok still continues to live in North Korea, where he has integrated into the lifestyle and has fathered three children with two different wives.
The film aired at the Berlin film festival, on the same day that the North Korean leader celebrated his 65th birthday.
