Sandisk Corp Announces Definitive Agreement To Acquire Smart Storage Systems
Sandisk Corp announced definitive agreement to acquire SMART Storage Systems, a developer of enterprise solid state drives (SSDs) based on the SATA and SAS storage protocols. Under the terms of the agreement, SanDisk will pay approximately $307 million in cash and certain equity-based incentive awards to acquire SMART Storage Systems, which is part of the SMART Worldwide Holdings portfolio of companies, acquired in 2011 by two related investment funds of Silver Lake. The transaction, which has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies, is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory review and approval, and it is expected to close in August, 2013. Approximately 250 employees of SMART Storage Systems will join SanDisk at the close of the transaction.
Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd To Participate In Tender Offer For Nokia Siemens Networks' Manufacturing Assets-DJ
Dow Jones reported that according to Finnish newspaper, Nokia Siemens Networks, the joint venture of Nokia Oyj and Siemens AG, is aiming to sell its manufacturing assets to contract manufacturers in a tender to raise cash and release working capital. Companies participating in the tender are Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd, Flextronics International Ltd., Sanmina-SCI Corp. and Jabil Circuit Inc., Helsingin Sanomat reported, citing confidential NSN documents it had seen. According to the newspaper, the tender was scheduled to close at the end of June. NSN will choose two of the four participants to whom the assets will be sold.

Imagica Robot Holdings Inc announced that its subsidiary has decided to acquire 1,400 shares (70.0% stake) of a subsidiary of Kadokawa Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd, from Kadokawa Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd, on July 1, 2013. The Company's subsidiary will hold a 70% stake in the target company, up from 0%.
