Environmental Recycling Technologies Plc Receives Grant of Additional Territorial Patents

Environmental Recycling Technologies Plc (ERT) announced that the Company has received confirmation of the grant of additional territorial patents in Japan, Mexico and Hong Kong. This patent is ERT's core patent for the Powder Impression Moulding (PIM) process which is a process capable of converting mixed waste plastics into a wide range of commercially viable products. ERT has core PIM patents already granted in the United States, Europe, Australia, China, New Zealand, Canada, and Singapore. The addition of Japan, Mexico and Hong Kong provides ERT with a patent portfolio which covers a key number of commercial territories.

Bion Environmental Technologies, Inc. Announces Approval Of New Canadian Patent

Bion Environmental Technologies, Inc. announced that it was notified that its Canadian patent application 2503166 entitled Low Oxygen Biologically Mediated Nutrient Removal has been approved. The patent application was made on April 18, 2005; upon publication and issuance, the patent will be officially granted and will remain in force until April 18, 2024. The new patent provides protection of the core Bion process's ability to convert and remove both nitrogen and phosphorous from the effluent stream. The patent describes the removal of both nitrogen and phosphorus similar to the United States patents in hand.

Bion Environmental Technologies, Inc. Announces Approval Of New U.S. Patent

Bion Environmental Technologies, Inc. announced that it has been notified that its U.S. Patent application 12/713,011 entitled Method for Treating Nitrogen in Waste Streams has been approved. The patent application was made on February 25, 2010; upon publication and issuance, the patent will be officially granted and will remain in force until 2029. Bion's recently granted patents have enhanced and expanded protections for the application of Bion's core biological nutrient removal system. The various active microbes present in biological nutrient removal systems, as is the case for Bion's technologies, are the workhorses of these processes. This patent expands both the types of biological communities, and the process configurations that promote their growth and use for nitrogen removal. The microbial community described by this patent opens up the potential for new approaches and reactor configurations for simultaneous nitrification and denitrification removal of nitrogen from wastestreams.

Tristel Plc Announces Results Of Clinical Study

Tristel Plc announced that the results of an "Evaluation of disinfection of flexible nasendoscopes using Tristel wipes: a prospective single blind study", have been published in the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Ann R Coll Surg Engi 2012: 94: 185-188). The study, undertaken by the otorhinolaryngology (Ear Nose and Throat or ENT) department at Northwick Park Hospital, North West London, showed the "in-use" efficacy of Tristel wipes in cleaning nasendoscopes of bacteria, fungi and mycobacteria to be 100%. The Tristel wipes system is a unique, patented decontamination method for small flexible endoscopes and ultrasound probes. It comprises a pre-clean wipe to remove surface soiling, a sporicidal wipe that kills harmful organisms within 30 seconds, and a rinse wipe.
