Aviakompaniya UTair OAO:Aviakompaniya UTair OAO, a Russian airline that is having financial troubles amid the slump in demand for air travel services, plans to reduce the number of its flights by 20 percent and cut its staff by 10 percent in 2014-2015-Interfax.There are plans to lay off more than 800 people, 500 of them management and administrative staff and 300 flight and technical staff, a company spokesman said.He said the cuts are being made as part of UTair's cost cutting program.The company had a total debt of 69 billion Russian rubles as of June 30 according to its RAS financial statement for the first half of 2014.It attributes difficult financial situation to an increase in lease payments for new aircraft and expenditures on fuel due to changes in currency exchange rates since the start of 2014.In addition, the company said its cost of borrowing has grown since the start of this year from 9 pct annually to 14-15 pct.The series of bankruptcies of Russian travel firms has also had a negative impact on the airline's business.UTair announced a cost cutting program in the middle of the summer that calls for reducing administrative staff, optimizing the route network and accelerating passenger services.

Aviakompaniya Sibir' OAO:Globus Airlines, a subsidiary of Russia's Aviakompaniya Sibir' OAO (S7 Airlines), will open a direct air route between Moscow and Tbilisi on Nov. 2, said TAV Georgia, the Tbilisi Airport operator-Interfax."At the end of the talks, Globus Airlines plans to make three flights a week along the Moscow-Tbilisi route starting Nov. 2" TAV Georgia said."According to the note of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, regular air traffic along the Moscow-Tbilisi-Moscow route shall resume on Sep. 15" the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) reported.The agency said the interdepartmental commission clearing transporters to operate international passenger and cargo flights had permitted Aeroflot, VIM-Avia, Globus, S7 Airlines, Transaero, Ural Airlines and UTair to resume regular flights between the Georgian and Russian capital cities.Two airlines from Georgia, Georgian Airways and flyVista Georgia, also expect to operate regular flights between Tbilisi and Moscow.Regular air traffic between Russia and Georgia was disrupted in Aug. 2008 because of the armed conflict in South Ossetia.Flights resumed in Aug. 2010.At present, direct flights between Russia and Georgia are available in the charter regime between Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi.The flights are operated by Russia's S7 and Ural Airlines and Georgian Airways.

Delta Air Lines:Launches twice-daily nonstop service from Los Angeles to San Antonio, Texas, beginning April 7, 2015.The San Antonio service complements Delta's daily service from Los Angeles to Dallas, which launches Nov. 3, and the addition of a third daily flight between Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, beginning Nov. 2.All flights are operated by Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines.With the addition of San Antonio and Dallas service, Delta customers will have access to nine daily departures to three destinations between Los Angeles and Texas.
