Aeroflot OAO creates new low-cost carrier subsidiary-Interfax

Aeroflot OAO:Aeroflot has now registered its new wholly owned LLC Byudzhetny Perevozchik or Low-cost Carrier subsidiary, the company said in a statement-Interfax.Another wholly owned subsidiary, Dobrolyot, started flights to Simferopol on June 10 but halted them on Aug. 4 due to sanctions imposed by the EU.

Aeroflot OAO:Russian national air carrier Aeroflot Group plans to create a new low-cost daughter airline instead of Dobrolyot that can launch flights starting from Oct. 27, Aeroflot Director General Vitaly Savelyev told reporters-Itar-Tass.Dobrolyot has suspended its flights due to EU sanctions imposed on the carrier since Aug. 4.A new airline will operate four airplanes, Savelyev said.The Aeroflot chief executive did not say about a possible name of the new air carrier.The company is also pondering several other variants to resume low-cost flights, Savelyev said.

Aeroflot OAO:Aeroflot OAO has said it will open an office in Georgia and launch passenger traffic between Moscow and Tbilisi-Interfax.It was reported in Oct. 2013 Aeroflot may restore flights to Tbilisi already in its 2013/2014 winter schedule.The winter schedule is in effect from Oct. 27, 2013, through Mar. 29.Regular air traffic between Russia and Georgia stopped in 2008.Urals and Siberia Airlines are performing charter flights to Georgia at present.
