Frontera Resources Corp:Announced it has begun start of new drilling campaign at Mtsare Khevi Gas Complex in country of Georgia.Location construction for well ž32a will commence shortly and drilling is expected to commence during the month of Aug.Well will take about fifteen days to reach total depth.Well ž32a is planned to be drilled to a depth of about 400 meters and is designed to continue to explore and expand identified gas potential associated with Mtsare Khevi Gas Complex.

Salamander Energy Plc:Announces spud of North Kendang-2 exploration well (NK-2), planned to be re-drill of North Kendang-1 (NK-1) well in South East Sangatta PSC.Salamander has 75 pct operated interest in South East Sangatta PSC.NK-2 to be drilled to depth of about 2,878 meters total vertical depth sub-sea (TVDSS) in order to evaluate Upper Miocene section.NK-1, drilled to 2,535 meters TVDSS, plugged and abandoned on April 13, 2013 due to high pressure wet gas kick in Upper Miocene.

Woodside Petroleum Ltd announces gas discovery at Toro

Woodside Petroleum Ltd:Says that the Toro-1 exploration well in permit WA-430-P has intersected about 150 metres gross gas and 65 metres net gas within the Mungaroo Formation target.The well reached a total depth of 3724 metres, referenced from the rig rotary table.Following drilling, wireline logging has been conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling.Says the well will now be plugged and abandoned as planned.

Swala Energy Ltd:Updates on the 2D seismic programme underway in Block 12B in Kenya.Swala has a 25 pct. equity interest in the block.The other Joint Venture participants are CEPSA and Tullow Oil plc the Operator, with a 50 pct. equity interest.The seismic programme over Block 12B has been completed and the preliminary interpretation of the results is positive.The initial results based on preliminary processed data indicate the presence of large-scale faulted structures across the entire basin, together with the presence of shallow volcanics, a feature of the East African Rift System.Initial results, supported by the company’s earlier reinterpretion of available legacy data, suggest a Neogene basin with possible 3,000 metres of sedimentary fill.

Atlantic Petroleum P/F:Says that drilling operations on the re-entry of the 6104/21-2 Brugdan II exploration well on Faroes Licence 006, held with Statoil, ExxonMobil and OMV, have concluded.The well was drilled to 4542 meters and drilling was operationally challenging.No hydrocarbons were found in the intervals drilled and the well will be now plugged and abandoned.The well was re-entered using the West Hercules semi-submersible rig in a water depth of about 460m.Brugdan is a large four-way dip closure in the Tertiary that was previously drilled in 2006 by the 6104/21-1 well.Neither well encountered the Vaila Sandstone target.The well is operated by Statoil who holds a 35 pct interest in the licence.Atlantic Petroleum has 1 pct interest, with 49 pct held by ExxonMobil and 15 pct by OMV.

New Western Energy Corp:Intents to commence drilling three new development locations on Winchester/Thomas lease located in Oklahoma.New Western intends to spud first well in the program in mid-July, 2014 with intent of having all three of the locations drilled and on production before the end of July 2014.Initial production from each well is expected to triple production from the current 5 BOPD and create additional PUD (Proven un-Developed) locations on the project.

Lundin Petroleum AB:Says it through its wholly owned subsidiary Lundin Norway AS (Lundin Norway) commenced drilling of appraisal well 16/4- 8 S on the Luno II discovery in license shared with OMV AG and Statoil ASA.The Luno II discovery is located approximately 15 kilometers (km) south of the Edvard Grieg field in the North Sea sector of the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).The well is located in PL359 and will appraise the Luno II Central South basin, located 4km southeast of the Luno II discovery well.The main objective of well 16/4-8 S is to test the reservoir properties and verify the petroleum potential.The reservoir is expected to be of Jurassic/Triassic age.The planned total depth is about 2,700 meters below mean sea level and the well will be drilled with the semi-submersible drilling unit Bredford Dolphin.The drilling operation is expected to take approximately 50 days.Lundin Norway, the operator of PL359, holds a 40 pct interest and has announced that it will increase its interest to 65 pct interest, subject to governmental approval.Statoil Petroleum AS holds 15 pct interest and OMV Norge AS has entered into an agreement to increase its interest from 15 to 20 pct, subject to governmental approval.

Gulfsands Petroleum Plc announces drilling programme commences

Gulfsands Petroleum Plc:Drilling operations within Rharb Centre Permit in Northern Morocco using COFOR SAS Cabot 750 rig have now recommenced with drilling of Lalla Yetou Updip-1 gas exploration well.LTU-1 is designed to be drilled to a total vertical depth of about 1180 metres, and will evaluate predicted Miocene aged sandstone reservoirs contained within fault bound structural closure that have been identified from 3D seismic data as having the potential to be gas bearing.LTU-1 is located up dip structurally from a previous well Lalla Yetou-3 that found gas bearing sands.Company expects that drilling operations at LTU-1 will be completed within 28 days.
