TRW Automotive Holdings Corp (TRW):TRW will open a new sewing facility in Roman, Romania, according to a company press release-IHS Global Insight Daily Analysis.The facility will manufacture and supply sewn airbag cushions to the company's occupant restraints plants ready for module assembly.The facility expects to employ 400 people by the end of 2014 and up to 1,000 people by 2017.Company did not disclose any investment figure for the new plant in the press release.TRW is opening this new facility in Romania to address rising demand for sewn airbags over the next five years, supporting its current airbag plants across Europe.TRW started operations in Romania in 2004, making leather wrapping for steering wheels in Timisoara, and has since expanded its activities to cover die casting, foaming and airbag production.Besides Timisoara, the company operates from four additional sites with around 3,400 employees.

Sogefi SpA:Announces that it officially started up two new industrial sites, producing suspension components and engine system components respectively, in Wujiang, in the Shanghai area of China.Says two plants are located a short distance apart in the area of economic and technological development of Wujiang.Says first plant, is dedicated mainly for the development and production of suspension components for motor vehicles (tubular and solid stabilizer bars at the beginning) and will in the initial stages service mainly BMW, Daimler, FIAT/Chrysler, Ford, and PSA through their local partnerships.Says Engine Systems Plant is designed for Air and Cooling Systems (at present a total of two major product lines - Air Intake Manifolds and Water Outlets - with more product lines to be added in the future), will initially be serving Daimler, SGM/SAIC, Ford and Jiangling Motors (JMC).Says two plants will employ more than 500 people when fully up and running.Says investment in the two factories will amount to approximately $ 40 million.
