Plains All American Pipeline, L.P:Says plans to construct a new 16-inch, 226-mile pipeline originating from the Plains Basin pipeline system at Duncan, Okla. and largely following an existing Plains right-of-way to Longview, Texas.Says pipeline is supported by long-term commitments and is expected to be completed by 2Q 2016.Says new pipeline will also have access to Cushing-sourced crude oil through connections with the Plains Cherokee and Red River pipeline systems.

Galp Energia SGPS SA:Informs, as partner of consortium for exploration of Block BM-S-24, that the preliminary results obtained during the drilling of well 3-BRSA-1246-RJS (3-RJS-732), informally known as Apollonia, have confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons and extension of Jupiter discovery in pre-salt Santos basin.Apollonia is the fourth well drilled in the Jupiter area, where it is being drilled in ultra-deep waters, at a water depth of 2,183 meters, located at 296 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, and at 8 km southwest from the Jupiter discovery well (1-RJS-652A).Drilling activities have proved the existence of an hydrocarbon gross column of c.313 meters, from 5,166 meters depth, in rocks presenting good porosity and permeability conditions.Besides the gas cap and condensates, the well identified an oil gross column of c.87 meters.Samples collected from well confirmed similarity of fluids characteristics discovered in the first discovery well 1-RJS-652A (Jupiter) and 3-RJS-683A (Jupiter NE) and 3-RJS-713 (Bracuhy) extension wells, indicating existence of a large common field, gas (natural gas and CO2), condensates and oil.Galp Energia, through its subsidiary Petrogal Brasil, owns a 20 pct stake in the consortium that explores Block BM-S-24, while Petrobras (operator) holds the remaining 80 pct stake.

NK Rosneft' OAO:Says that Rosneft and Exxon Mobil Corp (ExxonMobil) joint venture company Karmorneftegaz began drilling of Universitetskaya-1, the Russian Federation's northernmost well using the West Alpha rig.The West Alpha rig was provided by the Norwegian company North Atlantic Drilling which signed long-term agreements with Rosneft on July 30 for the offshore drilling.West Alpha was transported via the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas and installed on the drilling site of the East Prinovozemelskiy-1 License Area in the Kara Sea.The drilling rig made the way of over 1900 nautical miles to reach its destination.The rig is 30,700 tons in deadweight, 70 m long, 66 m wide, the derrick hangs 108.5 meters over the main deck, and it drafts during drilling for 21.5 m.The rig is held on the drilling site by an 8-anchor positioning system, which provides advanced stability for the rig.Most of the platform is outside the reach of waves, which are no impediment for the rig's operation.The maximum drilling depth of West Alpha is 7 km.The drilling will continue for two months.

Galp Energia SGPS SA announces results of exploration well TAO-1 in Morocco

Galp Energia SGPS SA:Announces the conclusion of the drilling of the exploration well TAO-1, located in the Tarfaya Offshore area, in the Atlantic margin of offshore Morocco, where no hydrocarbons were encountered.The primary objective of the well was to test the resources potential of the Trident prospect, located in the Middle Jurassic interval.The well was drilled at a total measured depth of 3,518 meters and did not encounter reservoir facies at the main target, Trident.The well also tested the prospect Assaka, located in the Upper Jurassic interval, and it also did not encountered hydrocarbons.The consortium is concluding operations and proceeding with rig demobilisation activities.Galp Energia is the operator of the Tarfaya Offshore area with a 50 pct stake in the consortium which holds eight offshore exploration licences in the area, known as the Tarfaya Offshore I and VIII.The consortium is also formed by Tangiers Petroleum (25 pct) and by ONHYM (25 pct).
