Sep. 5 - Gunmen and suicide bombers storm an army base in Baghdad on Sunday, killing seven people and wounding 22.

Suicide bombers and gunmen stormed an army base in Baghdad on Sunday. Officials say at least seven people have died and 22 were wounded in the attack in the Iraqi capital. The assault took place in broad daylight less than a week after the US officially ended combat operations in Iraq. There were conflicting reports as to what actually happened. According to an interior ministry source gunman and three suicide bombers were involved. While the security spokesman said the attack involved to suicide car bomber. Local residents reported seeing and hearing extensive shooting after the initial attack saying the gunfire continued for more than half an hour.
