African snails the latest weapon in pollution control (1:53) 

Feb 3 - A waterworks in St. Petersburg is using giant African snails as living sensors in a pioneering project to monitor air pollution in the city. Scientists claim the snails, which breathe like humans, are natural pollution monitors. Stuart McDill reports. ( Transcript )
