The latest images of Japan's quake stricken nuclear power plant in Fukushima - where authorities are working to avert disaster. The plant is overheating after cooling systems failed following last weeks devastating earthquake and tsunami. The number three reactor - which contains cancer causing plutonium fuel - is the top priority. Emergency crews doused the reactor with water cannon sprayed from these fire engines, and earlier, helicopters dumped 30 tonnes of water on the plant. As Japan's emergency response continues - help could be on the way. UN nuclear watchdog chief Yukiya Amano travelled to Japan on Thursday to seek first hand information about the escalating crisis. He said the international community would come to Japan's aid. (SOUNDBITE) (English) INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY DIRECTOR GENERAL YUKIYA AMANO: "This is a very serious accident but Japan is not alone. The international community is standing by Japan, we have a lot of offers of assistance to Japan and I would like to convey this message to them. " A series of explosions at the plant in Fukushima since last week's earthquake have raised fears that this could lead to a nuclear disaster.
