Besides the usual suspects of close family and friends, celebrities and sportsmen make it onto the guest list for the royal wedding.
Singer-songwriter Elton John, who performed at the funeral of the late Princess Diana, will be attending with his partner David Furnish.
And Spice Girl Victoria Beckham will be accompanied by her footballer husband David.
Moving into politics, the leaders of Britain's main political parties, David Cameron and Nick Clegg are expected.
In addition, charities with which Prince William supports will also represented.
The Chief Executive of the Child Bereavement Charity, Anne Chalmers, showed off her invite.
SOUNDBITE: Anne Chalmers, chief executive of the child bereavement charity, saying (English):
"I'm very excited about going, it feels quite surreal really, to think that something that's such a huge national occasion is something that I'll actually be attending."
The prince also supports Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe's charitable organization 'Fountain for Youth', so it comes as no surprise the athlete will be attending.
But for all the joy a wedding can create, there has been just about the same amount of controversy.
British campaign group Republic reacted negatively to the news that the Crown Prince of Bahrain, along with royals from Saudi Arabia were invited.
The royal wedding will take place on April 29.
