May 2 - U.S. President Barack Obama says the world is a better place after the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

U.S. President Barack Obama says the world is a better place after the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. SOUNDBITE: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying (English): "This is a good day for America. Our country has kept its commitment to see that justice isa done. The world is safer, it is a better place, because of the death of Osama bin Laden." Obama was speaking at a White House ceremony to award the medal of honor to two service men, the nations highest military honor. U.S. officials say Osama bin Laden was killed by US special forces in a raid on his compound in Pakistan. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
