(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Colombia's Medellin was the scene on Tuesday (May 10) of a dramatic shootout between police and residents following a drug raid that killed one woman.
Earlier in the day, police had tried to arrest 11 members of a drugs ring in the Limonar neighborhood, when shooting between the two sides broke out.
More shooting erupted as residents poured out into the streets.
A journalist and a policeman were also injured.
The commandant of Medellin's Metropolitan Police, General Yesid Vasquez, said the bullet that killed the woman would be examined to see if they came from police weapons.
The police said the woman killed was a member of drugs ring and that the gang fired the first shots.
Locals said they felt the police handled the situation badly and the violence put them in danger.
