Protesters unleash their fury on a convoy carrying Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan who was in the Black Sea town of Hopa for a rally. Security forces responded to the attacks by firing into the air and used tear gas and water cannons to break up the crowds. Medics tend to a man injured in the scuffles as locals carry a young woman to safety. Unrest appeared to be a theme throughout the country as anti-government protesters attacked a blockade outside the ruling AKP party's headquarters in Ankara. Their anger with the AKP was only heightened by news that a fellow demonstrator had suffered a heart attack after inhaling tear gas. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
