At least 24 people were killed in two separate bomb attacks in northwest Pakistan on Sunday. Police say dozens of others were wounded The attacks came less than a day after the reported death of an al Qaeda operative in a U.S. drone missile strike in South Waziristan on the Afghan border. Militants had vowed to take revenge for the killing. The first bomb blast occurred at a bus stop on the outskirts of Peshawar. Hours later, a bomb blast took place at a bakery in Nowshera city, killing at least 18 people. In the past month, Pakistan's Taliban militants, who have close ties to al Qaeda, have carried out a series of attacks to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. special forces in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad.
