U2's Bono and The Edge premiered their new musical "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" in New York on Tuesday night. The rock superstars have written the Broadway production. The evening must have come as a big relief to everyone involved in the show, the date had been moved several times before. Reasons for the delay were both technical and financial. There were even a major changes to the production after previews were shown. But The Edge says this is all in the past now. SOUNDBITE: The Edge, saying (English): "It's such an amazing feeling that we're actually going to get to see it on opening night. Normally, at an event like this, we're on the stage. We have to perform. But tonight we actually sit back with some popcorn and get to see the show." Bono seemed pleased, too. SOUNDBITE: Bono, saying (English): "You know we learned the hard way about how difficult this stuff is. But this is a magical, magical night out. It's a night you will never forget in the theater and I can say that having, you know, having been a big critic of it and we were as tough on this thing as any of our critics and now we're sure we're through them." And that's what it looks like when Spiderman takes to the stage. With around 70 million USD, the musical has become the most expensive production ever to hit Broadway. Cindy Martin, Reuters
