June 22 - Outspoken Chinese artist-activist Ai Weiwei, detained for nearly three months, is back his Beijing studio after being released by government authorities. Deborah Gembara reports.

Outspoken Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei, detained for nearly three months, is back his Beijing studio after being released by government authorities. Ai Weiwei was released on bail, and the official Xinhua (shin-WAH) news agency said he had admitted to tax evasion ... charges his family denies. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ARTIST AI WEIWEI SAYING: "I cannot give any interviews, please. So sorry. I cannot tell more than that. Live your life. Everybody should live your life. I cannot say anything. I'm on bail." He was detained at Beijing's international airport on April 3, igniting an outcry about China's tightening grip on dissent. Ai's family has repeatedly said he was targeted by authorities for his outspoken criticism of censorship and Communist Party controls. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
