Australian country music star, Keith Urban, has hit the road for a 70-stop summer concert tour. The tour titled "Get Closer" will allow the country crooner to do just that, as he is able to interact with fans on a more intimate level. SOUNDBITE: Keith Urban, singer, saying (English): "I think about maybe new ways we can get out into the audience or sort of blur the boundaries between where the stage is, and where the audience is, and where those two things end and begin, so I'm trying to get more integration between all of those areas. And in an ideal world kind of make the entire arena one big possible performance area." The carnival-styled stage includes a Ferris wheel shaped video screen and a roller coaster used to hang stage lights. SOUNDBITE: Keith Urban, singer, saying (English): "The initial idea for the stage for a particular look was something along the lines of a theme park. We felt that was something a bit more impressionistic would be better. So it's more so the shapes of what you might see at a theme park but not so literal. So we ended up with this, what I think, beautiful design." Incorporated into that design are new ways to utilize the massive 60-foot video screen. SOUNDBITE: Keith Urban, singer, saying (English): "We put a lot of effort into using that as much more as part as our show. I don't want to blow any of the surprises too much because I want you guys to see some things that you weren't expecting." Urban's tour is scheduled to end in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 15.
