Giorgio Armani goes East for inspiration…particularly Japan, for his Fall couture collection. The Italian designer sent models down the catwalk in silk kimonos and Japanese-inspired prints on skirts and wide obi belts highlighting the waist. Evening gowns were statuesque, strapless and long and came in soft muted colors with a hint of sparkle. At the end of the show, Armani came out for his final bow and announced plans to create scholarships for the hardest hit victims of the Japan tsunami and earthquake. Alicia Powell, Reuters.
