The nighttime sky near Al-Arish Egypt was aglow early Tuesday after a pipeline explosion. For the second time in the past week, a pipeline carrying natural gas to Israel was attacked. Local news agencies said the assailants attacked the security guard on duty before sabotaging the pipeline. Flames from the explosion could be seen as far as 20 kilometers away. Egypt has been trying to renegotiate gas prices with Israel and Jordan after President Hosni Mubarak was forced to step down in February, amid charges of corruption stemming from selling gas to Israel at below market prices, among other things. Israel maintains it pays market rates. Julie Noce, Reuters
