Security forces are on high alert in Kandahar after a suicide bomber strikes. The target was a funeral service for Afghan President Hamid Karzai's assassinated brother. At least four people were killed in the attack, including a senior cleric. The funeral service was packed with cabinet ministers and relatives of Karzai, but they escaped unscathed. Ahmad Wali Karzai, the younger half brother of the president, was shot dead in his home on Tuesday. His assailant, a senior security official, was immediately caught and executed. His body was hung in a local square for a short while, according to witnesses and officials. Simon Hanna, Reuters.
