Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez returns home in seemingly good health. The 56 year old arrived back in Caracas earlier than expected after undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer in Cuba. Chavez, who was welcomed home by his vice president and presidential guard, said the treatment was a success. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) HUGO CHAVEZ, VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT: "I said I would come back better than I left. My word is good. I have come back better than I left, thanks to God. Thank you Jesus of Nazareth. Thank you Virgin Mary as my mother says. Thank you, say I, to the spirits of the savannah. And thank you to you, the people Chavez stayed in Cuba as the guest of close friend and political mentor Fidel Castro. Chavez said his doctors had found no malignant cells in his body, after surgery last month to remove a cancerous tumour. The treatment though has called into question his fitness to run for re-election next year. But officials have released videos - such as this one with Chavez sitting with Castro and Argentine football star Diego Maradonna, to show that he is in good health. Simon Hanna, Reuters.
