Victims are pulled from the ruins of a casino. The building, in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, was attacked by armed men and set on fire on Thursday. Officials now say at least 53 people have died. Distraught relatives wait outside for information. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) RELATIVE OF MISSING PERSON WHO WAS INSIDE CASINO DURING ATTACK, ELENA NAVARRO, SAYING: "We are desperate. We want to know if he's all right. They should let them make a phone call so they can communicate with their families because we're very desperate over here." One survivor said masked gunmen at the Casino Royale threatened gamblers, then sprayed petrol on the carpets and set fire to the building. Monterrey has been ravaged by Mexico's violent drugs war over the past two years. Rival gangs routinely extort casinos, threatening attacks if the owners refuse to pay up. Lily Grimes, Reuters
