With summer coming to a close, the studios are gearing up their fall film releases. On October 7, Academy Award winner George Clooney directs and stars in the political drama "The Ides of March." Next up, Brad Pitt stars as the Oakland A's general manager who revives his baseball team by using computer-generated analysis in "Moneyball." That lands in theaters on September 23. And Johnny Depp takes a break from "Pirates" this season to star as a down-and-out newspaperman in "The Rum Diary," out October 28. Michelle Williams takes on Hollywood's greatest icon in "My Week With Marilyn," due out on November 4. On November 9, four-time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood's directs "J. Edgar;" a film that carries three-time nominee Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. On September 30, box office comedy star Seth Rogen joins Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a film that takes a humorous look at cancer. A much more scary look at disease is examined in thriller, "Contagion," due out September 09. Matt Damon leads an A-list cast about a man trying to uncover the source of a deadly, fast-spreading virus. Also out September 09 is "Warrior," about two estranged brothers who take traditional cage fighting to a whole new level. On the comedy side, Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy star in "Tower Heist," about two guys determined to rob 20 million dollars from one of New York's most protected - and hated - men. That's out November 04. Horror comes to Halloween in several incarnations. On September 30, Daniel Craig stars in the haunted house thriller, "Dream House." Antonio Banderas is a demented plastic surgeon in Pedro Almodovar's "The Skin I Live In," due out October 14. And ghostly footage is captured once again on home video in "Paranormal Activity 3," on October 21. Finally, there's always something for the kids. This fall welcomes back a popular "Shrek" character in the self-titled film, "Puss In Boots," which hits theaters on November 04. Bob Mezan, Reuters.
