After only three years in the music industry, Canadian rapper Drake has a list of accomplishments most veterans will never see.
The Grammy-nominated chart topper has snagged two Juno awards and recently tied with Sean "Diddy" Combs for the most number ones on the Billboard Rap Songs charts.
Now the Toronto native is set to release his sophomore album, "Take Care", which he says shows a new understanding of himself as an artist.

"My first album it was like, 'Oh Timberland wants to work, and this guy wants to work and Kanye wants to work'. So I tried different things and on this album you can tell that I realized what works for me."
Drake started writing the album by reflecting on his journey to stardom.
SOUNDBITE: Drake, rapper, saying (English):
"I just tell every story that I could remember leading up to this moment right now. And try and like vividly capture this rise as oppose to just being like, 'OK, I wasn't the man and now am the man and we should all bask in my glory. It's definitely not that simple."
Some of that glory included being named songwriter of the year by music publishing company BMI, an honor that shocked him considering the content of his lyrics… and also has him considering changing his style.
SOUNDBITE: Drake, rapper, saying (English):
"I always think because I rap and there's swearing in my rap, I never understand, does this music really resonate with the world, you know. A part of my is always like, alright, when I reach 30 am not going to curse anymore, am just going to make like straight, you know, albums that are like, that can be appreciated. Because, you know, you alienate a lot of people by making rap music, I mean a lot people can't appreciate it."
Drake named his first album "Thank Me Later", explaining that it would take time for people to truly understand his music.
So is it time to thank him?
SOUNDBITE: Drake, rapper, saying (English):
"I don't know, not yet, I got more work to do. Maybe after this album. After you hear this album, if you like it you can say thank you if you want, if you want to, you don't have to though."
"Take Care" will be released on November 15.
