Amateur video out of Syria appears to show the body of a man lying on the streets of Homs. The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters purports to show the aftermath of an assault by Syrian forces. Arabic narration -- seemingly from the cameraman of the video -- says the man was killed by Syrian security forces and an ambulance is unable to reach him. More footage shows a shop engulfed in flames The United Nations says 5,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad Syria. Video purportedly from Deraa shows tanks on the streets. The video comes amid reports that -thirteen people were killed in Syria's Hama province Wednesday when troops fired on a car and provoked a reprisal ambush. The Syrian government says more than 1,100 members of the army, police and security services have been killed since March. Syria has banned most independent media from the country making it difficult to verify accounts from activists or the government. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
