Video provided to Reuters by North Korea's state broadcaster KCNA shows mourners at Pyongyang landmarks on Tuesday, many weeping openly. Thousands gathered in front of giant portraits of Kim Jong-il. Some pledged their allegiance to the successor of the man they called Dear Leader, his son, Kim Jong-un. SOUNDBITE: Sok Chol Jin, 26-year-old worker at Central District Hospital, saying (Korean): "I will be faithful to General Kim Jong-un and devote myself to implementing the behests of President Kim Il-sung and leader Kim Jong-il." SOUNDBITE: Pak Sun Sil, 47-year-old resident of Pyongyang, saying (Korean): "I will do my utmost for the building of a thriving nation under the leadership of Genera Kim Jong-un." There has been an outpouring of grief since North Korea announced Kim's death on Monday. The 69-year-old died of a heart attack on Saturday. His son Kim Jong-un has been anointed "the Great Successor", continuing a line that began with his grandfather, North Korean founder Kim il-Sung. Paul Chapman, Reuters
