These time-lapse images recorded in June of last year prove that the Millers' Grizzled Langur is not extinct as many scientists had thought. Researchers set up a cameras that are triggered by movement in Borneo's Wehea forest - hoping to document the animal life. When the first images revealed unusual grey monkeys, lead scientist Brent Loken of Simon Fraser University says he and his team members were "kind of shocked". SOUNDBITE (English) BRENT LOKEN - SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY, SAYING "For one thing we didn't know that this monkey actually lived in Wehea, and some thought it was even extinct, so when we saw those first images from this camera trap were all pretty ecstatic." Millers' Grizzled Langur was thought to have been wiped out along with its habitat by human encroachment. The monkey has never been seen in this part of Indonesia. Loken says the findings emphasize the importance of documenting wildlife, so the case can be made to establish laws to protect it. Ben Gruber, Reuters.
