Under fire in Kandahar. An Afghan team looking into the massacre by a lone U.S. soldier of Afghan civilians comes under attack. The attack came just hours after the Taliban threatened to behead American troops to avenge the killings. One solider was killed and one civilian wounded. (SOUNDBITE) (Dari) FAIZ ALAM AFGHAN ARMY SOLDIER SAYING: "The Taliban had received a very accurate information that government officials were coming here. They opened fire and ambushed us." Two of Afghan President Hamid Karzai's brothers were part of the investigating party. They were not harmed. Earlier, the Taliban had threatened reprisals for the weekend shooting spree in which 16 people were killed. The massacre came weeks after deadly riots across the country over the burning of copies of the Koran by U.S. troops at NATO's main base in the country. The violence has led to calls to accelerate the 2014 goal for the exit of most foreign combat troops. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
