Bomb blast at Nigerian newspaper office

April 26 - At least two people were killed in a bomb blast on Thursday at a Nigerian newspaper office in the capital Abuja. Deborah Gembara reports.

Two people are dead after suicide bomber attacked the Abuja offices of a Nigerian newspaper on Thursday. Survivors at the "this Day" newspaper office say everything happened very quickly. Staff member Samson Oliver. SOUNDBITE: Samson Oliver, Staff At 'this Day' newspaper saying: "I was sleeping when I heard a heavy noise and when I woke up with shock and fear, I saw everywhere was so dark, something like smoke everywhere. I ran out and saw it was a bomb explosion." The attacker drove an SUV to the back gate and detonated the explosion when security guards tried to block him from entering the grounds. A similar attack was also carried that same at This Day's other office's in Kaduna. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
