ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The "Knife Fight," a sharp, reflective, political satire that dives into the realities of modern American politics, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday (April 25). Written and directed by two-time Academy Award-winner Bill Guttentag and co-written by revered political consultant Chris Lehane the film features an ensemble cast made up of veterans and newcomers. Rob Lowe, who starred in the political television drama "The West Wing" for seven years, said this film will provide audiences with a different view of politics. "This is the warts and all, sort of more cynical, jaded look at what goes on. And it's written by the actually guys who do this for a living. So if you want to see how a real modern campaign is run, you're going to see it in this movie, and I love that authenticity," Lowe told Reuters. Erick McCormack, who coincidentally is currently appearing as a senator on Broadway in "The Best Man," stars in the film as a political figure. McCormack made a quick appearance on the red carpet in between performances. Lowe's assistant in the film, played by Jamie Chung, is starting to see her star rise after her successful appearance in "The Hangover 2," however, she said she is trying not to pay attention to all the hype. Some of the actors rounding out the ensemble are Richard Schiff, Jennifer Morrison, Julie Bowen and Michelle Krusiec. "Knife Fight" will have a wide release in November.
