After a five year break Spider-Man returns to the big sceen with a new lead, a fresh story and in three dimensions. Taking over the role of Peter Parker in "The Amazing Spider-Man," is British actor Andrew Garfield, who said the first time he put on the suit was difficult. SOUNDBITE: Andrew Garfield, actor, saying (English): "I think when I first put it on it was hard because it was just like, I don't know, the design wasn't finished yet and I kind of looked awkward and I was like, oh God they've made the wrong choice in actor." The film begins by showing Parker's journey from an orphan to a teen on a search to find his missing parents. In the process, he ends up finding himself and love when he meets Gwen Stacey, played by his real-life girlfriend Emma Stone, who had no problem looking at Garfield in costume. SOUNDBITE: Emma Stone, actress, saying (English): "It was fine, it was fine." Jumping into the role of the villain is Rhys Ifans. Best known for his comedic roles, Ifans transformed literally and figuratively for the part of Dr. Connors, which caused minor problems during shooting. SOUNDBITE: Rhys Ifans, actor, saying (English): "The worst injury I got was, we wore a lot of harnesses, you know, hanging off buildings and stuff, so just some heavy chaffing." Buzz has been surrounding the film since Garfield was named as the new Spider-Man in 2010. Veteran actor Martin Sheen, who plays Peter Parker's uncle offered some words of advice to the young star. SOUNDBITE: Martin Sheen, actor, saying (English): "I think you have to trust that you can't be swayed by what somebody is saying nice about you or negative about you, you put them together it's equal, you keep walking you stay focused, you know." "The Amazing Spider-Man" hits theaters on July 3. Alicia Powell, Reuters.
