PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL Amateur video obtained by Reuters shows rebel fighters using anti-aircraft weapons against Syrian government troops bombarding the town of Abzmo. The bombardment is part of a nation-wide assault by Syrian forces against anti-government rebels. In New York protesters stage a mock massacre scene outside United Nations headquarters. They want to see more pressure on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is warning of impending disaster without international action. SOUNDBITE: U.N SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON SAYING (English): "The danger of full-scale civil war is imminent and real and with catastrophic consequences for Syria and the region." But the international war of words about what to do is also still raging. A truce forged by international envoy Kofi Annan and the Arab League is all but dead. There's been condemnation of another reported massacre by forces loyal to Assad. Syria says terrorists are to blame. China insists there must be no military intervention. Russia wants to include Iran in a conference to bring Syria's warring factions together. SOUNDBITE: VITALY CHURKIN, RUSSIA'S AMBASSADOR TO THE U.N. SAYING (English): "We hear complaints about Iran so the way to deal with that is to involve Iran in discussions." The U.S. says Iran is part of the problem. SOUNDBITE: U.S. AMBASSADOR TO THE U.N., SUSAN RICE, SAYING (English): "There is no question that it is actively engaged in supporting the government in perpetrating the violence on the ground." With the international in-fighting still no nearer a resolution, Syria's conflict rages, the death toll rises daily. Paul Chapman, Reuters
