ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION
About 220 Syrians, mostly civilians, were killed in a village in the rebellious Hama region when it was bombarded by helicopter gunships and tanks then stormed by militiamen who slaughtered some families, opposition sources said on Friday (July 13).
Video uploaded to a social media website appeared to capture a room full of grieving family members surrounding the bodies of their dead relatives on Friday.
Reuters is unable to independently verify the content of these videos, which have been obtained from a social media website.
U.N. observers in Syria described the attack on Tremseh as "an extension" of a Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) operation, the U.N. mission said in an assessment obtained by Reuters on Friday.
Other video from Syria purported to show shooting in the capital. Activists reported that uniformed men were firing machine guns in a Damascus neighborhood.
