U.S. Morning Call: GE powers on with quarterly earnings

July 20 - GE reported a 2.5 pct rise in Q2 profit as solid U.S. demand for energy equipment offset the effects of a weak EU economy.

GE Google and Marissa -- pay package here's your morning called this Friday. General Electric reporting a quarterly profit this morning that topped expectations. The Dow components earnings from continuing operations going -- meanwhile revenue rose as well. Don't -- hair below the consensus forecast. -- involves maintaining its outlook for the year shares have risen by more than 10% heading into today's session. Google is clicking with customers sales at its core search business up 21% in the latest quarter. Clicks on Google search ads jumping 42%. The company saying about it hardware plant after its acquisition of Motorola mobility. Shares in the premarket are getting a lift from the report. Meanwhile Microsoft reported its first quarterly loss as a public company that was expected after it wrote down the value of its acquisition of quantitative. Excluding the charge it exceeded forecasts pictures up close to 20% this year are outpacing the overall market. Person mayor had seventy million reasons to take the top job at Yahoo! Google employee number twenty given -- pay package that could exceed that mark over five years. According to regulatory filings. So I don't -- one million dollars but the bulk of the seventy million would come from stock options and other awards. Mayor given the Yahoo! And Xerox it now at Wall Street's earnings expectations profit soared by weak economic conditions here.
